About Me

I tend to like learning a bit more about the author of a blog, so I’ll share some of my personal information for anyone curious.
I graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in Computer Science in 2002 and am currently attending Johns Hopkins University for my graduate degree in Computer Science. I started my professional career as a C++ programmer working on a Workflow / BPM software for a fast paced private company until I was burnt out and got this brilliant idea in my head that I wanted to become a patent attorney. I quit my job in IT and took a position at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office while preparing for law school only to realize how much I missed programming. So after around 6 months at the Patent Office, I returned to development working for various commercial companies before settling to work for the Department of Homeland Security as a consultant.
I’m an avid gamer but know all too well the dangers of gaming addiction, so I consciously try my best to stay away from it. My latest recovery is from a game called Minecraft. This is true more so now that I am married and cannot afford the time. I’ve heard of fellow gamers who are married to those mythical creatures called gaming females, but unfortunately my luck doesn’t extend that far. Though my wife is still great in other ways. Through her I’ve learned to appreciate other things in life like what kind of moisturizer is best for dry skin and the joys of the color pink… no, really, she’s great
.
I am interested in all things related to computers and programming, but I am currently focusing on the iPhone and other mobile platforms. I work with two great team members who are also good friends. Together we formed a company called GAMEPEONS and released a few iPhone applications. We are currently working on a game for our next app.
Please feel free to drop me a line at min at gamepeons dot com if you want to chat!
